I'm fairly sure my big SS (speckled suss-ex ) is a roo. I can't post pics, because I'm a newbie, so here's just a description.
He has a much larger and redder comb and wattle than my other chick of his age.
Green, shiny tail feathers are coming through and the tail itself is really tall and curvy.
He fights with his 'sibling' ( they've been raised together ), hackles up and with claws. They don't actually hurt each other yet though.
He's very cuddly ( not sure if this counts for anything ).

His 'sibling' I can't tell at all. He/she is a runt, with a few thing wrong with it. There are two fleshy bumps on both of his wings, the wing feathers are 'messy' and he/she is very underdeveloped.

Thanks in advance.

As soon as I can I'll add pics.

It does sound like a rooster. I have some Speckled Sussex that are about 4months old. I will see about getting some pictures of them tomorrow to help show the difference.

It is probably hard to tell, but this is a picture of two of mine at about 3months. One on the left is a pullet and one on right is a rooster. He has a nice bright red comb and nice rooster tail.

Looks fairly like the one on the right, different colouring though.

Yep, mine is a definite roo.
I need a roo though, haven't had one for a few years!

Ok...so I went and woke him up.

This was the best picture I could get. It has been raining tonight so he is a little wet. He is first generation off of my hatchery SS. And, he is 4months old.
