Fake Eggs in the nesting box

I put a fake in in one nesting box quite some time ago, before the chickens started to lay. I've notice that not one chicken will use that box, so out it goes and now they are using the box! Just an observation...

I have a few chickens that WON'T use the nest box unless there is a fake egg in there and others that kick the fake ones out before they begin to lay.

I use fairly round rocks i pick up at the beach as fake eggs. They are harder to kick out and also discourages packing eggs. Golf balls some times too.
