Fake owls ..do they help?

Has anyone used one of these fake owls that the head moves around? I am thinking about buying one, but I want other opinions first.

I have heard some claim they work and some that claim they dont. But the owls with the moving head is susposed to work the best.

I move it several times a day to make it seem realistic.

Does your fake owl keep out other owls, hawks and eagles? We have all three.

I found my young Black Spanish tom pleasuring himself with my owl decoy a couple of days ago. I guess it works for that.

I've heard that aluminum pie plates work good.Tie them to a string and let the wind blow them around,and hopefully no flying predators will come.I believe I heard it was something about the sun reflecting of the aluminum that scares them off.

From what I understand things like this (owls, plates, CDs, etc.) work at first, but birds, like many other animals, figure out after a while that the thing isn't alive and/or attacking them and then they just ignore it.
