Fall Food & Fun for the Chickens

Well, it's past the time for the Falls first frost and the Garden has been very good to us this year. So yesterday I dumped about an Acre of grass/leaves clippings into the garden. I've let the grass walkways go unmowed for the last month. I opened the Chicken Run to Garden chicken door and the chickens will have til spring to glean and till the garden for me. This has been working out well for me, by spring the garden will be perfect for a quick till and plant.

Great way to fertilize too because nature will call while they are out there.

How wonderful for your chickens! Not much in life makes my chickens happier than scratching in leaf litter, looking for bugs.
