Falling for my little chickens

I’m a duck lover...who owns a whole lot of chickens... Don’t get me wrong, I loved on the peeps until they got sick of me...and then last week I decided they needed to go free range a bit...and we started to play..these little buggers actually come when I yell. Little chickens...they love to be pet and held...it’s amazing...we have older chickens..that we rescued..who had no human contact...so they don’t want us to touch them..but I started to try today..one step at a time..who knew this duck lover would convert...just don’t tell my ducks...lol

Yes...lol.. I think there are two hens...but maybe I’ll have five ver sweet roosters?? Lol

It could happen....at the moment I have one super sweet rooster, and five... 'so far they've made it to 31 weeks without any problems' cockerels
Of course I have over 60 pullets... that probably helps

I understand your trauma! I started with chickens -- which I adore, fell in love with runner ducks, too, and both groups have to share my love of poultry with the pair of American Buff geese who came along last year.

The good news, for me, is that since they are relatively small (okay, not the geese so much), there is room in my heart for everybody. Except occasionally a couple of particularly unpleasant hens. But I usually forgive them fairly quickly.
