Hello everyone! It is wonderful to be part of your group! We just moved to five acres in the country in Boerne TX and we can’t wait to start incubating eggs and perhaps also getting a few chicks of a different breed. We are thinking about getting some RIR eggs to incubate (and only keeping the hens after they hatch), and getting some baby dominiques that will be chicks at the same time as the RIRs. Has anyone here had any experience keeping RIRs and dominiques together? Also, since we are close to SA where summers can be brutal, will they be able to tolerate the hot summers? TIA!
