Fan Question??

i tried both ways and blowing air in is what made a difference.i will check the fan daily to make sure its working ok and not full of dust.i only plan on using it while we are having this unseasonal wheather.when it cools a bit ill turn it off...

i have my fan blowing in. if dust is an issue then you can get a furnace filter and attach it to the back so it keeps dust out of the motor and filters the air at the same time and its a lot cheaper than buying a new fan or even buying a air filter.

i have a small shop vac and can blow it out as much as i need to.i dont think the dust will be waaaaay bad cause the fan is about 5 ft. up,but we will see...

I've been wondering about a fan too. Our coop is an open ended hoop type with the nest boxes/roost area "roofed/sided" but no actual 4-sided enclosure like a standard type coop.
Putting an exhaust fan in the one window on the back wall of our coop would be like having one in a screen porch. I think it's too much volume of air for a small fan to effectively move.
Such a fan would probably do well in a standard 4-walled coop though.
