This is Rex! Isn't he a beauty? 8 months old, he is a mottled java/ dominique cross. I wish I could get closer for a shot of that beautiful comb and neck feathering. He's such a gentlemen with us and the hens, we just adore him.

I love seeing this! All the variety and stories of how they get their names, and creating your own cross breed! Awesome guys! Truly wonderful. I wish we'd have fancy flocks running around on farms and get rid of the commercial poultry factories. It makes me sad to think about all of those birds who will never be loved or have a chance to make someone smile. Wishful thinking? Maybe in the future..

He looks like a Golden Laced Wyandotte to me.

Looks like he might be a blue laced red Wyandotte, the rooster in my avatar is a golden laced Wyandotte yours looks like he has a bit more color. Wyandottes are The best roosters I have several other breeds and my Elvis is the sweetest.
