Hi everyone,
I have a Silkie I purchased as an egg from a show-quality breeder online, and I’m not sure about the gender.
I had Fancy’s egg shell tested in a lab, but it was returned as being ‘inconclusive.’ I then sent in a blood sample, and after two weeks the result returned as female.
Fancy is now just over 11 weeks old, and I’m second guessing her gender for a couple reasons. She seems larger and bossier than the other female Silkie I have who’s the same age and from the same breeder. She also has these super shiny, pointy feathers on her hackle and crest. She doesn’t seem to have much of a comb yet. What do you think? I’ve attached pics of her (white) and the other black pullet, Darlene.
Thanks!
Lauren
