I know many of you have thought of doing this and some of you probably have done it.

I’m sure you know how it works. You start out with 8 chickens, 4 hens and 4 roosters, 8 different breeds. Then you breed those hybrids to a different set of hybrids and on down the line for three generations until you have your final product of an eight way cross bred chicken.

I’ll have to think on it. I only have 5 that I’d really want to use.

My focus would be on producing a chicken that lays 210+ medium sized or small white eggs per year.

In order to mix several breeds, you have to first stabilize each cross.
Some genes are dominant, some are recessive, and some are much more complicated than that.
You would need a careful, detailed plan and many generations to select the best from each cross before you then merge them together and go through the selection process again.

I would never say you couldn't or shouldn't do this. Personally, I find it really disappointing when people say as much on others threads.
Nothing is impossible. Anyone could become a great breeder in time.

But it's important to know what you're getting into; how challenging finding success will be. It will take a lot of time and money to grow out all those generations.

It also sounds (to me) like you don't yet have a solid vision for the resulting bird.
A large quantity of small eggs is something you could find in an established breed. Maybe think about your goals some more.

Someone told me that a Plymouth Barred Rock Bantam is a heavy layer of small eggs. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ok, but if that's all the focus then why? Obiviously you like these breeds for some reason.

I’m just surprised that nobody has ever had this fantasy. The creation of super hybridized mutant sounds like an intriguing project to me. I wouldn’t do it. I just thought it was an unoriginal idea. I expected more participation.

It wouldn't be a breed, but I like to imagine it would look cool if I could get the specific things from each breed I wanted.

Pheonix (long tail, broody, predator awareness)
Naked neck (naked neck)
Silkie (silkied feathers, feathered legs, polydactalism, broodiness and black skin)
Cornish bantam (body shape, broodiness, male temperament)
Sebright (specifically the white laced buff color)
Asian Black (Size)
Genetic Hackle (super long Hackle feathers)
Spitzhauben (Broodiness and small crest)
