The problem I have in Arkansas is with the humidity - refrigerated eggs develop condensation on them within about a minute of being out on the table! The eggs end up getting wet anyways, whether or not I wash them.
Since I prefer not to wash, I have started keeping my eggs out on the kitchen table at room temp.
I wash (if needed) and refrigerate them only right before I give them out to people who would be freaked about poop or warm eggs.
