Farm fresh eggs

Anyone ever see one of these signs and buy eggs? ever try to hatch them?

I soooo want to! lol

I have known alot of people that started there flock that way.

If you buy from someone with one of those signs, you had best ask if they have a rooster. I have one of those signs and I don't have a rooster. I don't think you'd be very successful if you tried to hatch one of my eggs.

I stoped at one of them and asked him if he had roosters in with his hens, he said yes I ate six and put six in the bator, hatched four of them.

That's where I got my eggs. I did open one and it was fertile. The owner of the feed store said he's been to the man's farm and there are roosters. We will see how it all goes. I just made sure to ask if they had been refrigerated or not.

I bought some today. I was at the local market (old fashioned family owned grocery...so cute!) they had "Fresh, local brown eggs" for $1.89 a dozen. So I asked at the counter "do you know what kind of chickens these are from?" and she says "hens"

Ummmm...yeah! cause roosters don't lay eggs!
Anyway, they come from her neighbor and yes there are roo's with them!

I think I'll set them tomorrow
