I apologize if this is elsewhere, but I couldn't find it when I searched. I picked up a Farm Innovations incubator from Tractor Supply yesterday. The one with the built in fan, etc. I calibrated the thermometer that came with it, and the temp seems to be holding steady based on the inside temperature. However the temperature gauge on the top of the incubator is reading 10F lower than the internal temp. The humidity is reading at 80%, with the center water well filled. Do you think that is accurate, or is the hygrometer likely off as well since the thermometer is off? There isn't any condensation on the windows or anything.

Is there a way to calibrate the hygrometer at all? I couldn't find a way to remove it when I looked. Suggestions?

I have the same incubator. Don't trust the built-ins. I keep a thermo / hygrometer inside the bator to monitor temp and humidity. Mine showed 50% humidity with no water in it when I was test-running it.

Yeah, not trusting that built in thermometer at all! I am using the loose one that came with it, calibrated against a digital thermometer I have. So far it seems to be holding temp pretty well. Been right about 99.5 every time I've checked on it. So sounds like I should just get a new hygrometer to put in there?

Yeah, the temp has been steady as a rock. Just not sure about the humidity. Really want to get those eggs baking, think it'd be ok to put them in now? Not sure how soon I'll be able to get in town to try and find a hygrometer. :/

ETA: Where would be the best place to find one? We have a Tractor Supply, Blue Seal and Walmart about half an hour from here.

I'm having the same problem! The temp is holding steady and I have an extra thermometer in there to verify, with no problems. But I do not have any water in it and the humidity has been hovering around 50-60%. If I take a vent plug out the humidity goes down a little bit towards the 50% mark. Im going to get another hygrometer ASAP but in the mean time I am worried about whether it is too humid or not. Could the eggs be producing all that humidity on their own with no water in there at all?

I have the exact same FI incubator, by the way. Heat holds nice and steady!

So, got a hygrometer. It's been sitting 54-56% since I put it in. Temp has been 99-100 every time I've checked.

I wound up putting the eggs in, so hopefully it works out!
