Hey guys, I just purchased a heated waterer today in preparation for winter. Just wondering if anyone has used this particular waterer? This will be my first winter with chickens, I hope they like this bucket. I feel they will as they currently use a bucket with horizontal nipples so the only difference with this one will be the power cord.

I'm wondering if TSC would have it. I'll have to look next time I'm there. A really BIG selling point for me is the horizontal nipples. I have tried vertical nipples, and they dribble. (The chickens will tap the nipple, get a drop of water, and watch the second drop fall on the ground. They look for it in the dirt. Amusing, but counterproductive, especially if I want to have water inside the coop.) I have tried the horizontal ones that have the little cup underneath, but those catch dirt and bedding and get gross. Open waterers get pretty dirty too.

I have seen similar ones at TSC but not all the time.

The first one I bought last winter dripped water. I returned it and tried out a replacement that didn’t drip. So keep your receipts just in case

Good to know @Big Doggie thanks! It looks like a good set up.

@Sally PB, I’ve tried using the horizontal nipples too and I didn’t care for them, my chicks never took to them anyways. They did like the cup ones but I’m same as you, I found they collected too much bedding and dirt. The horizontal ones are where it’s at!

I wish we had a TSC, it sounds like a great store.
