Does any one know if there is a chance of illness if a farmer sprays the fields next to the pounltry pen? It may be a coincidence but I lost a lot of hens last year around the time the farmer sprayed and this year he has just sprayed and I have a duck off its legs like the chickens were? Vet could not be difinitive to cause of death for any

Depends on what he is spraying with. I would imagine high concentrations of pesticides might kill poultry. If I were you, I would not let your chickens range near to where this farmer has sprayed for a month or more after the fact. No expert here, but I would think it is all toxic. If nothing else these chemicals would upset the crop flora and even burn the intestinal tract. I would also keep mowing down the grass or weeds where these chemicals have come in contact with what your birds might eat. Keep the birds off freshly sprayed foliage.
