Fashion emergency - house paint - help!

Choosing a paint colour is very difficult. There are different shades of grey, different shades of brown. You would need to match the colours with a swatch (or paint chip) and then choose a colour that complements the two. I would also paint your garage door a lighter shade of grey, and make your front door a dramatic colour to pull the eye to it.

That does explain the problem - the new garage door is a pretty almond color, and the old front door disappears into dark brown. Didn't realize it, but that's exactly the issue.

I understand the idea of repainting the garage door, but would really hate to. We just got it and it looks really nice.

What if I match the trim color to it, and paint the door a brighter eye catching color?

The old storm door is going on the chicken house - I could certainly paint it with the cranberry as a test and see how it all looks...

i agree with the orangish, maybe like a dark orange brown, the word Spice comes to mind, and I would paint the garage door to match since its another color than the roof and walls.

still think, if you want the trim to stand out, AND paint th front door a bright colour, you would need to paint the garage door. There is a ratio --I think 60-30-10 on how to decorate (its been a while so sue me

)

And I can't personally recommend a colour , b/c as I stated before there are different shades of grey and brown.

This tool could give you some ideas though.
