As of tomorrow I will be giving my chickens some antibiotics and don't want to eat the eggs for the time that they are on them. I don't have an incubator and would like to try and hatch the eggs if I can. I do have a old cooler, an old walmart thermometer, a light source and so wire fencing that I can use. I don't have any small fans and money is just to tight to try and buy anything.
This is just an idea for me to try. I have never tryed anything like this and I really don't just want to through the eggs out if I can try to hatch them.
Thank you for any and all ideas.

I guess that you can use an old computer fan if you have one that you can rip apart. I have a styro cooler that I would like to try to make a hatcher out of, just not talented enough to wire the thing.

my incubator is an old coler that i took the top off of. if u were to take a top and didide into thirds that 2/3 is covered by a paine of glass and the other third is the old lamp. I then covered the lamp portion with alminum foil. for air flow i just slide the pice of glass back and forth creating a gap based on the temp. For humidity cut the bottom off a 2liter bottle and keep it filled with water. I found it helps to keep some wet paper towls crumpled up in there that u rewet evert 2-4 hours. I also put some hay in the bottom to stop the eggs from rolling around. Im expecting chicks in about 10 days so good luck.

Will do. Also i keep mine in my garage and on cool nites i put a pice of alminum foil over the glass. I have subscribed to this post so when i get any results i will post on it. So keep an eye out for it and good luck

Ranger 45 could you by chance post any pictures of your incubator so I can get more of an idea of what it looks like. I do much better at seeing something than just reading about it it is the way my brain works. Thank you.

Look at the sticky at the top of this section. Look through there and there are pictures of lots of homemade incubators.
We just made a hatcher and it was a bit tricky getting it to keep the right temp. Placement of the fan/bulb/thermostat in relation to each other is critical. You will need to experiment a bit. Read read read:)

You might be able to get a fan off freecycle if there is a local one. Someone might have a computer headed for recycling, or a burned out video card with a fan on it.
