I've had a hatch going on since the 21st. These Marans eggs hatch when they want.

I Have more eggs that lockdown tonight. Thing is I don't have another bator and decided to do a float test on the remaining eggs.

First one I picked up peep! Haven't had one hatch since last night, but I hear at least 2 in there. Backed off the float test and closed the bator back up.

I've had 17 hatch so far, pulled out empty shells, but it's had chicks hatching for 4 days! You know the smell!

I've hardly ever have a hatch go longer than 2 days. This is the one bator I have right now for lockdown, but I know I need to clean it. If I could afford it I'd run aout and buy another one, but can't do it.

I'm thinking set the ones peeping aside and float test the others. That allows more space. I still need to clean it out, so I guess I could find away to set the eggs aside and wipe it out? IDK

For anyone who has had this happen (OK I may be the only one) what would you suggest for wiping it out with that's fast enough to let me put these cheepers back in fast???

Just don't know if I should just lock these others down as is.

Never did this where I didn't have another hatcher or bator available.

i have used some mr clean orange cleaner really quick and rinsed but you will have a humdity spike afterward unless you could dry it really good. i have an LG also. my hatch lasted for 7 days. with a staggered hatch. i have also used dish soap but it is a little harder to rinse in hurry.

Yeah the humidity was my main concern.

I stopped using hygrometers, so nothing has been a calibrated.

argggggg I can't believe I didn't free up a bator!

I usually use bleach to clean and rinse good and let them dry.

I wonder if wiping it with alcohol would do it since it drys fast, but then what will that do to the eggs???

OMG I don't know

I realize I am going to sound strange here but before I had the use of two incubators I would clean my LG with soap and water and then dry it best I could with a towel. To get it really dry and avoid the humidity spike I finish off by blow drying it with a hair dryer. (I did warn you it would sound strange!) It works great and is super fast!

LOL

I was just unfastening the cord on a blow dryer and hit refresh.
