I just hatched my first chicks from shipped eggs. 14 shipped during an unexpected heat wave. 3 never developed, and 2 had blood rings at 7 days, so 9 made it to lockdown. Ended up with 7 hatched so far, one egg must’ve quit right before lockdown but I didn't realize it and was quite pungent tonight so I tossed it, and 1 has pipped internally but nothing else yet. That one is still in the incubator for another day to see if it progresses. I put three eggs under broody bantams who had never hatched eggs before, and kept six in the incubator. I used a Maticoopx 20 and am pleased with how well it did. I had tested it before I got my eggs and temp and humidity were very accurate, and it kept humidity pretty well in my dry climate. The chicks are bantam Salmon Faverolles. I did a time-lapse of a couple of them hatching that I posted to YouTube and I think it’s cool to watch. Photo is the first to hatch with its broody momma Green Queen bantam. Video here: Hatching Faverolles
