Once she is locked in her coop for seven days, then she can be let outside to free range, and she will return to her coop at roost time. Usually, when they have grass and bugs to look for they might be more likely to not overeat. But don't limit her food.

Growing chicks need unlimited feed during daylight hours. A chick will not overeat feed. It's normal for chicks to fill their crops throughout the day. They have a lot of growing to do, and they need that feed to fuel their growth. Chicks with full crops can seem unsettling to new chick owners, but it's pretty normal.
