Father and son bonding?

I have a almost year old rooster who has been a father for 2 months! The chicks ended up being a cockrel and a pullet! Yesterday i let the cockrel eat with my rooster. They were doing well until the cockrel was very curious of the red dangly things hanging from his dads neck and pecked them! My rooster freaked! So my question is how old do they have to be to be together! My rooster is seperated from my whole flock btw!!!!! HEEEEEEEELP!!!!!!

Depends a lot on their personalities and how hormones affect the cockerel when they start kicking in, in maybe 4 weeks. They may do better together if they can't see and hear the girls.
