The guineas aren't technically even mine - atleast not this pair since I gave them to the neighbors...anyway he swore up and down the hen was killed but I had seen her from time to time lately. Sure enough she came out this AM with keets. Well I go down to see if she only had 2 and no there were 4 that I seen - hm seemed like a small clutch when I think of all the other guinea hatches I've seen...Well I walk down to check on the horses in the back pasture and on my way back up I see the male (father guinea) with a keet in his beak flinging it around. So I run up and the mama is all defending her last two babies against the male, and I see 3 dead white little baby keets in the squash patch + the one I saw the male kill. So poor mama (who was trying like the devil to murder the male and me) is now keetless since I stole the last two survivors that I seen and are now in a brooder up at my house under a light. One of these babies are injured, I guess the male knocked him on the head but after a few hours that keet looks to be doing okay.
My question - will just 2 keets be alright? Do you think I need to locate a few chicks or other keets (I probably can) that are under a week old and put in with them, or will just the two keep each other company enough and warm enough under the light alone?
