G’Day from down under phantomchook
Welcome!
Tee hee at some of the responses
definitely a bizarre one!
My first thought was that it was not a chicken chick? Any chance it could have been a chick from another bird, possibly that one of your hens has found and dragged into the coop to eat then changed her mind?
Or, how long have you had the hens? If not long, did where you get them from have a rooster? Possibly they were still laying fertile eggs when you got them, one of the eggs got hidden in the next box material and was lucky enough to hatch
Anyways, I hope you enjoy BYC; not only is it overflowing with lots of useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures about chickens, turkeys, duck, quail, Peas and pretty much any other feathered and non feathered friends
