I have some marans crosses hatching out next week, and I'm thinking to raise the extras for meat. I should have about 15 or so that will be named dinner by the end of the 2nd week.
Is there anything I can do to their living quarters or food that will make them a little tastier? No one in my family liked the flavor of the rooster I cooked this winter. He was about 22 weeks old, so I will butcher these guys around 14 weeks (this will coincide with the butcher of the cornishX I am getting in 6 weeks).
Thanks in advance for any advice, I've not raised with the intention of meat before.

Oh, btw, they are 3/4 marans 1/4 ameraucana, if that makes a difference.
