Mine get Black Oil Sunflower Seeds (BOSS). They attack when they see you coming with them.

Mine love em - but I only introduced the seeds a month or so ago - I added them to the scratch - now they gobble em up in no time - at first, the sunflower seeds were left till last!

What sunflower do the black oil come from? I saw SOMEWHERE when I was getting my garden seeds, but can't remember now!

You can get the BOSS at most any feed and seed or at TS or Walmart. I have found them to be more expensive at TS.

The hens are in good shape and I keep laying pellets available at all times. I am planning to sell off some older hens at a swap meet soon and the people that buy tem want them to eat. So the biggger and heavier they are, the more they will bring. Thanks for all the tips. I quit feeding corn because it lowers their protein and they stop laying.
