Fatting up Chickens

I feed my girls twice a day layer feed plus fruits and veggies daily. They just seem under weight. I have large hens.

I keep feed available 24/7, for layers. You might want to try that.

Feed24/7. I just fill a big pan and leave it for them. Is there any reason that you are onlt feeding 2x a day.

I thought you always feed layers 24/7. I only ever withheld food from my meaties, so they didn't eat themselves to death.

I give mine hog feed once a day, along with ample supply of layer crumbles ( they prefer crumbles...not pellets ) and they do fine. Actually, I get more eggs.
