Fatty Ball Shaped in lower neck towards belly.

My 7 month old RIR has a ball shaped something 6-7 inches down from her head, in front, throth area/belly. Sorry , hard to describe. Very soft, waterbaloon ish.I can squish it with the hen not really care, everything seems normal. She eats,drink,poo and lay eggs regulary. What can this be? FAT? Tumor? Is it safe to eat her eggs???

It sounds as if you are describing her crop. Could that be what you are talking about?

I agree that it sounds like the crop. Is the swelling off to one side or straight down the middle?

No real threat. You might just have a fat hen.

That is her crop. Best not to "squish" it.
