This may a stupid question but I have never crossbred. I breed Favarolles and would like to cross w/ Amerucanas for this green egg layer. Can I put an Ameracana rooster w/ my Favarolle hens and my Favarolle roosters w/ Ameracana hens? will both results be the same. I believe they will but I thought I should ask just to be sure. The results should be the same. What variety of Ameraucanas do you have? Where did you get your Faverolles?

I've hatched a few Fav x EE mixes the past couple of years from layer hens that jump into the breeder pen. Unfortunately it seems the cockerels are the ones that most often inherit the pea combs!

I breed Favarolle and have 7 hens and 2 roos. I am about to set an incubator of eggs . I only have the salmon color. I love the breed. they are gentle and come running to me because I feed them worms when they are free ranging. I also breed Giant Cochins. They are also gentle and I get many colors changing roos out. I have a Blue , white and a splash cochin roos.

I do not have the Ameraucanas yet.
