i noticed today that our Favaucana is missing almost all of her leg feathers and she seemed to be scratching at her legs. I have seen other posts on here about leg mites, could this be her problem? I have never had to deal with this before being new to chickens.

I can try to get better pictures if these aren’t good enough. She doesn’t really like to be held so I was shooting with one hand & holding her with the other. Got pooped on for my troubles too!

Yes, she has 5 weird toes. :)

It's hard to see the scales in the photos, but if she's scratching or picking at the legs, then I would give them a wash, gently scrub them with a soft brush, dry, then apply ointment of choice. (coconut oil, castor oil, Nu Stock cream, vaseline, A+D ointment, etc.)

Thanks for the suggestions. I will get my daughter to help me with that tomorrow. She is not our calmest hen so holding her & taking a picture was hard. I will also enlist her help to wash her legs and put some ointment on them. She loves the girls so she will be happy to help.

I have cleaned them several times and applied coconut oil. The feathers seem to still be missing. I will investigate further when we get back from vacation. She is otherwise healthy & active. None of the other girls show any signs of leg issues so it may be something else.
