I'm babysitting a neighbor's flock while she is out of town. In return, she is paying me in 6 Faverolles. She said I get pick of the flock. They were all hatched in February. The eggs were ordered from our local Aggie Mart and that's all she knows of their origin.

SSOOO... what should I look for as the creme of the crop of the flock? She said she thinks there are two roos, and I can take one if I'd like

A good female Faverolle should have distinct lacing on the back and wing feathers. The color should be rich salmon and not dark red. The male should have a clean distinction between the white in the hackles and the black. They are beautiful and Ewe Sheep's little girl is a great example.
Notice the muff of beard on her bird it should be full and the fullness should extend towards the back of the head.

I miss my Faverolles soooo much. I get more in November

I do too! I miss my little bantams.

This one that is pictured came from a lady up in Streator who got them directly from Catalupa Farms.

Ummmmm that is something to think about LOL!
