Hi there! What is your favorite breed of turkey that you would want, already have, or had in the past? ( Share some Pictures if you can of your selected choice! )

Mine is the Bourbon Red!

I am very partial to individuals more so than breeds. However, I am very partial to my zebra turkeys (Royal Palms). Their size, coloration and ease to train make them very wonderful pets. The most friendliest turkeys I have had are Broad Breasted Whites. These are just a few pictures. We have two Broad Breasted White hens, two Royal Palm toms, then five Royal Palm hens.

Mine are the rare Beltsville Whites
But I also love my Bourbon Reds

I want slates so bad, we have about an acre for them to run on with our ducks, but we arent as serious about turkeys as we were the ducks. They are so beautiful! I also love the black and white toms I think are royal palm.

You should get some Blue Slates. There is one on Craigslist that is around the Dayton area I believe (unless it was sold). Our turkeys are wonderful and love taking care of everything. I went outside yesterday when it started to rain and all of the larger turkeys had the broiler chickens and baby turkeys under their wings and everything. They are also very good watch dogs and really encourage free ranging among the other animals. We have muscovies and they have always been a bit against the muscovies (maybe because they squeak and it sounds like hissing to the turkeys?), but I think if the turkey was raise with the ducks, things would be different.
