favorite candy bar?

That's a trick question, in my case it should read "which candy bar do you not like",
Exactly! I'm a total chocoholic!! I don't like peanut butter, so that does eliminate a few for me. I like peanuts in the candy bar, if there is chocolate, just not peanut butter, or peanut butter tasting, like Butterfinger, or Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I'd have to say ones with chocolate and caramel are always good: Milky Way, Twix, and Snickers. I do love Charleston Chews, too, especially frozen!!!

Well I already named my favorite but I'm going to keep putting more out there.. A lot of you say Snickers and I bow to that.. Snickers is pretty incredible.. but a couple unpopular ones I like are Paydays and Mr. Good Bar. I think I developed my taste from my mom, she's 62. She's a sweet-a-holic.

KIT KAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almond Joy with Kitkat as a close second and Mallow Cups in third, Reese's Peanutbutter Cups fourth. I have to complain though that in the past 10 or 15 years, candy bars overall have gone downhill in quality and quantity. I wouldn't mind the bars getting smaller if the manufacturers continued to use quality ingredients. And I don't want a big bar that is crappy ingredients!

But they are using less and less cocoa and coconut, smaller almonds, more high-fructose corn sweetener or other cheapo sweeteners that make the candy bar sickeningly sweet but utterly lacking in actual flavor. There's a difference between taste and flavor! "Taste" means the sweetness, while "flavor" is the chocolatey-ness, coconutty-ness, etc. It's that flavor factor that has badly deteriorated to the point where I rarely buy candy bars anymore.

I thought that the local confectionaries would produce better candy, since it's handmade, but discovered that with the exception of a few items, their chocolates and candies were also sickly-sweet but low in flavor. Everyone is cutting back to save $$, I guess. You have to go the tippety-top of the line chocolatiers to get the real thing, and you pay dearly. But for me, sometimes it's worth buying only a few expensive bon-bons that are fabulous, than lots of crappy "cheap" candy.
