My dogs new favorite toy is a baby toy I picked up at a thrift shop for my cats. It is a plastic softball sized ball with holes around the outside and plastic shapes that move around inside. The cats never got a chance to play with it once the dogs saw it. The dogs are either playing with it or sleeping with it.

If you have BIG rough dogs (i.e. newfies and pitbulls, etc.), try a grocery store coconut (whole).

It will take months for them to make a dent in it.

coconuts, a good idea! Is this husk on or off? (only problem for me would be the mess)

Their favorites are live skunks, wood chucks and anything that will try to run from them...

Nylabones, Kongs and other hard toys will last a little while...........but soft toys, I give em about 1 second before they are gutted and the squeaker killed mercilessly!

I have had 3 dogs who love the Nylabone Double Action Chew.

"Nylabone Double Action Chew Bones are the newest dental chew toys that feature a double action, for cleaning and freshening and satisfying chewing.

- The minty fresh hard natural rubber center bar makes it easy to carry.
- The ends are bacon flavored Nylabone, durable enough for powerful chewers.
- Dental nubs help control tartar.

Regular: 4.75”
Wolf: 7”
Super: 9” "

We call them their "Dinosaur Bones." They're big, heavy and keep my dogs occupied and they DO NOT chew furniture or anything else. It takes about 4-6 months to chew both ends off of them, but "Rose" and "Pygma" manage to do so.

Kyla's favorite toy was a stuffed alligator with ChewGuard fabric. It is the only stuffed toy that has lasted her more than a day and it lasted for months before she finally managed to tear it open. A year later, the stuffing is gone and it's been washed a number of times, but what's left is still going strong and it's still her favorite. I tried to get her another, but the company tells me it was a limited time special product and they don't make it anymore.

Outside, her favorite toy is a tennis ball hanging from the roof of her pen, just high enough that she can jump and touch it, but she can't get hold of it.

Well, that's not entirely true. Her favorite outside toy is my cat, who she will chase far into the woods if we are not careful, but she has been very good at not giving chase lately.

ruby likes rocks...no no joke, she wont touch toys but rocks shell throw around the yard for hours...she also likes chipmonks. Live...she likes to play fetch, never hurts them, but she will climb right up a tree after them

jasper has 3, sticks, just plain old sticks but he picks 1 and is very particular that it has to be THAT stick for that day.
he also loves his bad cuz and his skineez fox

vixie has an AKC brand squirrel
Rosies is her AKC Bunny (which now has no ears, most of the fur it gone, it just looks like a brown blob lol)
Dodger doesnt like toys
and charlies is anything that squeeks and his ball!

ORBEE BALL!! (http://leerburg.com/788.htm) My dogs like that they are squishy and minty, lots of chomping and drooling over this one. Plus, anything remotely BALL shaped is always cool with a Lab.
Unfortunately, they are kinda pricy, which is fine by me coz they do seem to last well.
It's better if you have better aim than I do though! lol
I threw one in the neighbor's yard.....and their Boxer puppy loves it so much that I kinda hate to demand it back

Also the Whirly Wheel (http://leerburg.com/1284.htm) is a HUGE favorite with my Lab, but I will warn you that it has a really loud squeeker. It's an outside-only toy at this house. I tend to prefer a lighter frizbee, so I can throw it further with less effort. This thing doesn't fly very far coz it's heavy, but I guess that's OK coz I haven't flown it over any fences yet!!
