Amy, I haven't taken pictures yet but I'll try to get one for you this afternoon.
Dreamgirl, one thing that I have done that helps with this problem is to take an aluminum pie pan, slit it from outside edge to the center, then take the cut edges and pull them in, over one another, till it forms a pyramid shape. Since the pans are usually a tad larger than the feeder I can set the pyramid down into the bottom of the feeder without it coming apart. Then fill it with feed. This forces the feed that would remain in the center of the feeder to the edges. But it also takes up some space so you can't put as much feed in it. The best solution I have found for auto feeders is to keep them over half full. Or when I go out to let the birds out I take a minute to shake down the feed by kinda spinning the feeder.
