When my son was 2 , at one of his reg doctors visit, Doc notices lots of 1/2 inch circle bruises all over his legs. I was very puzzled as to how they happened until we got home and he was in his room playing with his cobbler bench. It was on his lap! Hammer hammer hammer...turn it over and do it again
You would think he would figure it out...put it on the floor and it wont hurt your legs
As for "old school" toys Hula hoops and Marbles (things that got you outside playing and not in front of TV)
I am the youngest in my family by several years. I used to play with the toys from my older sisters. Does anyone remember these games? There was one I think was called "Clean Sweep". There was a game board with four trays, one in each corner. The middle piece held little tiny plastic pieces of "garbage". The garbage would pop out and each player had a little broom to sweep all the garbage he could into his tray. Whoever had the most won. I loved that one.
Then there was another that if I remember had a plastic sheet you spread out. There were many of these plastic alien things that had a spring for the body and a suction cup for the head. You pushed the suction cup down on the spring and waited.......and waited........then they all started popping up and you had to catch a certain color one.
My sisters also had one of those plastic dolly maker things, like Creepy Crawlers, only a dolly and you could make her clothes. Flatsy Patsy?

I have not seen one of those in years ! I still have lumps on my shins from getting too close when someone else was playing with it. This was back before warning lables to "protect" us. Everyone just figured if it hurt enough, you'd stop doing it. And if you didn't stop, you became the entertainment for the adults.

OMG I so wanted one of those when I was a kid but my parents didnt have the money to get me one so my grandpa made me one out of acoffee can lid a piece of rope and a rubber ball. He also taught us how to
make our own chinese jump ropes out of rubber bands which they saved. I sure do miss my Grandpa, he was the greatest. Thanks for this thread for bringing up those memories.
Here is somthing you don't see much now. Tire swing.... Boy I miss the one at my granddaddys farm in Ocala. Had so Much fun on it, and kept all of us grandkids out of the house. Always between 4-11 of us at a time visiting.
You also don't see kids climbing trees like we did as kids. I guess too much tv,computer, and video games now.
