I loved John Belushi's samarii characters, especially samarii psychiatrist - when the patient didn't think he was of any help. John would take his sword and hold it against his throat threatening suicide - until the patient apologized.

I loved the shark with a candygram. I can't recall who did that one, but it was in the 70's.

Ok, so I know this is a very old thread but I LOVE SNL! I think one of my favorite characters is Penelope, but really any Kristen Wiig character is good. I think that Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Aidy Bryant are my favorite cast members though. My favorite sketch is probably police line up, especially when Kyle "shoots vocal arrows" Saturday Night Live has never failed to make me laugh!
