It depends, but I gravitate towards romantic classical most days. I greatly enjoy Chopin, Lizst, and Tchaikovsky. In certain moods I also enjoy jazz, Donovan, Christian worship (as long as the lyrics aren't whiny), and some of the older country songs.
I think you should add classical as a poll option.

The only country I like is Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. I really like Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday for jazz, but I mostly listen to new(er) more indie type stuff like Rex Orange County, Gorillaz, Ritt Momney, mxmtoon, and Tyler, the Creator. I also love Sade, Fleetwood Mac, and D'Angelo. Pretty much everything but country and metal 😅

ETA: I'm absolutely obsessed with this song right now:

My wife likes the whole folk singer/songwriter era, so every once in a while we are "rocking" to the likes of Janis Ian, Joan Baez, Cat Stevens, Joanie Mitchell, Carol King, etc. Plus some individual works from Simon & Garfunckel, Guthrie, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, and yes, even Neil DIamond (she has a fondness for the Jonathan Livingston Seagull soundtrack, which I admit is quite good as a concept album).

My Singer/Songwriters are more modern. Tori Amos, Indigo Girls, Dido, Billie Joel, Sarah McLachlan, Jackson Browne. But I've got to be in a mood.

oh, and we both like "Yacht Rock" for long car drives.

Alternative music is my favorite, especially from the 70s to the 90s. But I like something of every genre, except maybe polka. For country music I like Johnny, Patsy, Dolly, Nick 13 and Lucinda Williams.

Help me please with "Alternative" from the 70s to the 90s, that brings a pretty broad range to my mind. Do you mean like Alan Parsons "Alternative" (in which case, we have most of it on CD and vinyl}? or New Wave/Synth Pop "Alternative" (I've a few), or??? 90s Alternative for me was "Adult Alternative", the Tori, Sarah, Enya, Clannad, October Project, Yanni period?
