Hi my name is Denise, we have 10 chickens 9 are Rhode Island Reds and 1 is a Favorolle, we thought the Favorolle was a female until this past week and she/he is crowing, not very much like my other rooster did, just a couple times a day, does that mean I have a male rooster

Hello Denise! Nice to meet you, welcome to Backyard Chickens. It is possible you have a rooster... May you please post a picture? A picture may be helpful. :)

Faverolles are usually very easily sexed by coloring. Males have an entirely different coloration than the females.

Ok thank you, my last rooster was nasty, this one we don't seem to faze him, hope he stays that way.
