Just reaching out to see if there’s any other Fawn Red O.E. breeders out. Would like to compare notes on breeding this color.

the Fawn color on OEGB is based on Dun, which is an allelic mutation of dominant white(I^d), one copy of the mutation(I^d/i+) will give you a chocolate breasted red, and two copies(I^d/I^d) will give you a light Khaki color(nearly white), I wonder if you can show both as Fawn or only the dun/chocolate kind

Hello okay I have fawn reds but they didn't come from breeding pyles I was told to breed fawn golden duckwing oeg to a bb red oeg so I done this and got finally the hen then i took said hen to the original fawn golden duckwing rooster and got my Male

Sorry I missed the beautiful pics you posted before.

Can you elaborate more on your previous statement? You were told to create Fawn Reds by breeding a Fawn Golden Duckwing rooster to a Black Breasted Red Hen? I guess that will work, but only about 25% of your male progeny will be Fawn Red.

25% Will be Fawn Red e+/e+, s+/s+, I^d/i+
25% will be Fawn Golden e+/e+, S/s+, I^d/i+
25% will be Golden duckwing e+/e+, S/s+ i+/i+
25% will be Black Breasted Red e+/e+, s+/s+ i+/i+

to get 100% you would need a Khaki Red(often called Red Pyle or Fawn Red Sport) e+/e+, s+/s+, I^d/I^d mated to a Black Breasted Red hen.

Yes I was told to breed the fawn golden duckwings to bb reds and did you see my pics by any chsnce
