It's rare for me to go off venting like this, but I am getting disgusted with FB now. Not because of that incident that made the news headlines recently, though I am quietly very thankful that I shared very little personal information on my profile there.

My issue with them is because of their greed! I recently created a FB page for my website and almost from the start, they have been pushing "promote your page!" at me and they are pushy! Every time I log into FB I get it via my notifiers and when I ignore it and go to my page…. I get this pop up:

(Note: I did NOT click on anything to make this come up, I just went to my page and they pushed this at me. Look at the budget for this and what they promise)

That is nearly $508.00!! For what exactly? A few page likes... I very recently saw the results a friend's "boosted post" on FB and how little it actually helped. Less than 1% traffic from paid vs organic and it cost a fair bit too… Seriously?

It's a lot of money for very little return. I did briefly consider having them promote my page, until I saw the budget and the "estimated" ROI. This is too nuts.

I recall reading an article the other week similar to this. However, it was from the side of the 'reviewers' which are just random people that are paid a small amount to create a new FB account, make a legitimate looking profile and do some reviews for pages/companies/etc.

Must be why FB thinks $500+ is a justifiable amount for a 10 day run. Heck, you could bu a month of radio commercials during prime time for that amount I would guess.

That's crazy Sumi! When is enough income really enough already?
