Fearful Adolescence

My ducks are about 8 wees old now, and they usually follow me around when I let them range in my yard. Now I have to heard them or bribe them with a high value food item (peas) to get them into shelter at night. Should I have handled them more as ducklings? A duck farmer on a Youtube video I watched a while back stated this was normal and they're just stubborn like teenagers.

Is this pretty much everyone's experience with ducks?

mine always get stubborn when they are teenagers lol. then they go back to their normal selves a couple weeks later.
