Majik our Midnight B/S Peacock in all his glory a few months ago

And now he looks like a hailstorm worked his tail over, resembles what a stalk of corn looks like after a good hailstorm here in the midwest.

Next is Wild Thang,,our spalding pied male.He was 2 yrs old this summer and didn't have a lot to work with tail featherwise to begin with,,not to mention he didn't get in the front of the line either when good looks was being dished out. Here he is doing what he does best,,thinking he's the coolest peacock in the pens.

And now,,still uglier than a pile of poo.

Heres Opie,,our Opal B/S male who now has offspring in 4 states. This was when he had all his eggs in the same basket.

And here he is now,,someone call the cops because Opies been robbed!!

These guys didn't have a lot to work with all summer since they was only 2 years old,,none of them came close to top of the Photo Perch status like our MIdnight,Bronze,BSSP,and Opal B/S But next year we hope tail feathers will become more than mere feather duster quality.Meet Phoenician(Greek for purple),,our Purple B/S silver pied 2 year old. He's been on the UGLY list since he came here in late March.

Next is Kingsford our Charcoal dark pied w/e male. He's a late bloomer and still breeding hens but his tail needs some Rogaine for next spring.

And our 2 year old IB males.Actually the barred wing IB male grew a significantly longer train this year compared to all our other 2 year olds.He looks like fresh roadkill now.

And our IB/BS male,,poor guy had stubble feathers all summer not much better than now,,but we know he did appeal to some of the 9 girls in the IB pen,,he sired about 6 known IB/BS chicks that we know of.

Great pics, Randy! I still think ol' Thang is a cute patooty! All the "ugly" just means they'll be that much prettier next year! All those 3-year-old trains! :)

Ok, I want Thang! PM the total! I think he's beautiful! Sorry I just love pieds!! Wish I could get peach pieds. This coming season (next year) I think I am going to breed my charcoal w/e to a pied.

Yoda, you gotta be joking. Did you see the Unpredictable genetics thread I started earlier this week with all the mis-matched chicks that came from Thang here and the 2 IB hens with white flights? It's scary what Thang is producing,,yet intriguing. I've got two very nice IB pieds, one will be 3 next summer and the other is now just over a year.Don't need 2 of them for sure.
