Feather EATING?

Poor Vern has no feathers left on his feet or legs and he's Cochin and used to have a lot!

Howdy,

We have 3 happy and healthy hens; feather eating has been an on/off occurrence. It comes and goes, and for us, is hard to tie to a certain situation.

If it helps any, our one egg laying hen this winter continues to lay -- whether or not she eats feathers or not.

If I were to offer any advice it would be to give MORE FREE RANGE TIME. Best of luck and happy 2011.
