feather genetics

can anyone tell me what type of feathers you get when you breed a silkie to a smooth feathered chicken?

normal feather if the normal feathered bird is not carrying silkie gene, 50-50 if it does carry silkie.

so if I breed 1 of my standard size girls to a silkie roo all offspring will have moms feathers.
if I breed offspring to a silkie, half the chicks will have silkie feathers. do I understand correctly?

Can you breed back a roo to its own chicks? Well when they are mature of course. That would make more of a chance for the roos feather type wouldn't it?

not neccessary... silkie feather is silkie feather... but the quality.. that can only be achieved by selections.
