A few days ago I posted to ask advice on why some of my nine Pekin hens had started loosing feathers from around the ear and neck area. One suggestion that rang very possible was it was due to stress. Me having ti change their living quarters to make room for broody hens. Well, I have since taken advice from a vet who is saying they have a fungal disease known as white face. Apparently it can happen when hens pick at old rotting vegetation. Sounds right in my case because I have just started letting them free range over a discarded growing patch of garden! I have been given medication to put in their water, and a spray to use on the effected area.
I wondered if anyone else had ever come across the disease white face?
