I have just 6 "new" chicks, 3 ISA Browns & 3 Rhode Island Reds, to add to my flock. I have kept the chicks apart from Shed/Pen Chickens.
All 6 chicks seem to have new feather growth around neck and back, however, it appears that some areas are down to the skin.
Is this normal, the chicks are getting older, at first I figured new feather/moulting; Now, I wonder if it could be mites? Disease?
I don't recall seeing this with other chicks at this age. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The new "6" seem well, eat, drink plently of water,
pretty much normal active chicks with exception of feather loss/new growth.
