Feather loss spreading from head down body

I know- it’s really odd isn’t it. This is why I’m worried. The redness is just his skin (his skin is the same skin / colour and texture as the comb- apparently lots of roosters are like this). It’s not redness from being sore or anything. But the feather loss in one specific place is bizarre. There seem to be lots of feather pins (not sure what they’re called!) coming through again today/yesterday hoping that these actually grow, hoping something I’ve done has worked.
