Feather loss!

6 of my 7 hens are moulting, yet 4 are still laying. I thought that chickens are meant to stop laying when they moult. Is anything wrong?

I am no expert (or is that eggs-pert?) - but I'd say count your Lucky Stars!

I WISH my hens - who are done moulting now - would start laying again.

From what I've read on here, just give your girls some extra protein - canned mackerel is a cheap solution - to make up for what they are using to regrow feathers & make eggs at the same time.

i feed them soya beans and porridge every morning, so plenty of protein. maybe that's why?

I gave mine soy bean sprouts one day. The next day OH what a smell!
