feather loss

I have 5 barred rocks about 12 weeks old. When cleaning the coop/run I notice loose feathers
lying about. The chickens themselves aren't showing any bare spots, injuries or the like....
I'm assuming now that they are fully feathered...some feather loss is just a natural occurrence....
am I "assuming" correctly?
