i've done some research on the site and did not see this addressed. If the hens have feather mites what do the remaining feathers look like? Are they ragged and broken? Can the skin be bare but still look healthy (not red,or weepy, or crusty, just bare)? I thought all my hens went through a molt already this fall, but one is nearly bare underneath. She is not in the least bit broody, though I keep hoping (maybe in the spring though
. Are mites able to leave the hen then come back or do they stay on the hen? I looked and did not see anything more than what seemed liked normal small flakies, nothing icky looking at all. Sure would like some advice. Thanks!
